Our beloved two-year-old, James, is currently on his way to hospital. In the afternoon, he started having trouble breathing and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Eventually, he couldn’t do without oxygen and the intervention of a doctor, who prepared the little patient for his journey to the emergency room of the Lusaka hospital.
James came to us at just under two months old. This is the time when the baby should be lifting his head, but the toddler was not managing this task. In addition to his cerebral palsy, every week more and more problems came to light – seemingly insurmountable problems. The sisters are well aware that miracles do happen. Sometimes they just need a little help. We write ‘a little’, but the effort was titanic – patiently, day after day, James got stronger and stronger. He didn’t just lift his head, he started to sit up. Unfortunately, he sometimes also has serious downturns.
Thanks to you, we can react really quickly here in these situations. Thanks to you, we have an ambulance that can safely take children in acute cases to hospital. And we know that we can always count on you in such situations and ask you to support our Emergency Department, thanks to which we can save the lives of our little ones.
We need you very much here in Kasisi today!
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
