In many African countries, attacks on people with albinism, especially women and children, remain a serious problem. Superstitions about the magical properties of their body parts lead to devastating tragedies.
Among our children, there are two girls who have endured that immense pain. When you look at their smiling faces, it’s hard to see the suffering they’ve been through. But when your gaze shifts a little lower, their story becomes clear… The absence of a hand sends a chill down your spine. They both lost their limbs for the same reason—superstition and greed.
Today, they have a chance to live normal lives, but a key part of their recovery is access to high-quality prosthetics. Unfortunately, in Zambia, access to such equipment is limited. That’s why Sister Mariola regularly flies with the girls to the United States, where they can receive the care they need. Each prosthesis must be custom-fitted, and since the girls are still growing, replacements are needed frequently. The costs are enormous—not only for the prosthetics themselves but also for flights and accommodation.
We invite you to join our urgent fundraiser that could transform the lives of these specific children. For safety reasons, we can’t show you their faces, but rest assured, your support will bring them immense joy.
We know that with you, nothing is impossible!
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
