The holiday season is a special time to reunite with children who return to Kasisi from boarding schools and special education programs. Among them is Kenneth, whom many of you surely remember. His mother brought him to Kasisi when she was no longer able to care for him. At that time, Kenneth was severely neglected, and doctors diagnosed him with partial paralysis of the esophagus. Today, as we reflect on how his life was once in danger, we look at him with pride and emotion.
Kenneth began speaking some time ago. His joy at being with the boys at Kasisi can now be heard everywhere. The boys are equally thrilled about his visits and love playing with him. His progress is the result of hard work, rehabilitation, and your support.
This story is yet another example of the incredible power of helping! Thanks to the “Adoptions from the Heart” program, Kenneth has had access to physical therapy from the very beginning, and now he attends a school that is perfectly suited to his needs. All of this allows him to grow, and we hope that one day he will become completely independent.

A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
