When a small child, just a few years old, suddenly ends up alone on the streets of a big city, not knowing why it is happening or what to do with themselves, this child’s whole world collapses in an instant like a house of cards. No child is responsible for what adults do in this world. No child should become a victim of adult decisions.
That is the story of Dixon, who recently came to Kasisi. Although he is only 5 years old, the boy knows all about rejection, loneliness and fear. He experienced them wandering alone on the streets of Lusaka. No one was looking for him, no one asked about him, no one was interested in him. We do not know where he slept or what he ate.
Fortunately, Dixon has found a home. Tons of love will have to be poured into the void that was forming in his heart. Kasisi knows how to do that. He has the Sisters, new brothers and sisters, he has you, and we strongly believe that there will be those who will take little Dixon under their adoptive wings!

A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
