Today is Earth Day. In Kasisi we have been celebrating it since March by planting 250 fruit trees. Can you imagine what will happen when they grow? Every resident will have their own!
As soon as you cross the threshold of the HOME, you can see that we live in harmony with nature. The sisters take care not only of board and lodging, but also teach our Kasisi kids to see beauty in nature and to take care of it. This is why Kasisi is so green.
There is something else behind the kitchen and dining room; our vitamin gem, the vegetable garden, which grows, among other things, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, pumpkin, green peas and potatoes. Sounds like the vitamin bomb that every schoolchild and preschooler needs.
Growing your own fruit and vegetables has an endless list of benefits, but the most important thing is that what our kids eat is HEALTHY. That’s why we’ve decided to support the Kasisi garden and green every metre of it. And the project is completely ECO. The kids will plant the vegetables themselves, make sure they grow healthily (using only natural methods) and then eat them with pleasure.
Today we are adding seeds for our home garden to the baskets full of fruit and vegetables in our Pantry. By funding them, you can ensure that, thanks to you, there will be even more vegetables this year.
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
