Today is International Students’ Day and on this occasion we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all our Kasisi students. Our thoughts today are especially with Eva and James, who thanks to you can study medicine in Poland!
We wish James and Eva that the determination with which they pursue their greatest dream will never leave them. The beginning of their life story, as you all well remember, was not easy. They ended up in Kasisi after losing their parents. The first years at university in Poland were not pampering either: a foreign country very far from home, a foreign language, a completely different culture, and a lot of studying in a very demanding course.
Today, Eva is studying in her 3rd year and James is just finishing his studies and preparing to specialise in neurosurgery at the same university in the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz. Many thanks to everyone who made these dreams possible. Soon the ranks of doctors will be filled by two wonderful, always smiling, excellent specialists.
This year, more kids are graduating from secondary school. Among them are: Belita, Veronica, Mary and Steven. They are just taking their final high school exams and have a whole lot of plans. Veronica, like Eva and James, would like to study in Poland, Christopher has no doubt that medicine is his vocation too, while Mary dreams of hotel management.
Sister Mariola often explains to the kids: “Remember, you can never have the excuse that you are an orphan, that fate has made you more afflicted. Thanks to the foundation’s support, you now have the same opportunities as all the other children in the world. But whether you make the most of them depends entirely on your hard work.”
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
