We are at HOME! This time not alone. We’re visiting Kasisi with Marta and Marcin, who at the Good Factory for the past year have been regularly, once a week, donating five zlotys as part of the High-Five project and have earned the chance to travel with us to Africa.
So we begin their dream journey, during which they will see the power of even the smallest donation, but given regularly.
The first stop on our trail is Zambia and Kasisi, our HOME! This is where the Kasisi Foundation and its sister charity The Good Factory had their beginnings. It was here 10 years ago that we learned how much we can change when we are together. Kasisi is not only about smiles, fun and joy. Here, hard work goes on every day to turn dramatic memories into a secure future. Marta and Marcin realized this in the very first moments of their stay.
While greeting our albino charges, in addition to sincere gratitude that they are already safe, we also realize what cruel people they had to deal with before. For a few pennies, they were able to destroy these little ones’ entire childhoods with one blow. Crippled on the body, with deep wounds in the psyche, so often betrayed by loved ones, at HOME they learn anew to trust and open to love. This takes an enormous amount of time and daily work by the sisters. Here, every wound subjected to a giant dose of love begins to heal. This also happens thanks to you, who through Adoptions from the Heart are realistically building this safe HOME for every child battered by life and people.
We can’t show our albino children, because for them it’s still a huge danger. But maybe one of you, not knowing their faces, would still have a little room in your heart to stand by these little ones from today, surrounding them with love and the feeling that they are important to someone – for them it means EVERYTHING.
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
