A baby was brought to Kasisi in January. We cannot tell you the girl’s real name or show you her photo.
Margaret, as we call her today, turned 4 in December. She is an albino child, and it was for this that she was punished so severely… She was attacked at home and her hand was cut off, because this would bring health and prosperity… Belief in magic in Africa is unfortunately still the order of the day.
The police caught two suspects, but it turned out that there were others who were on the hunt for the girl’s other arm. The mother decided to send her daughter to Kasisi so that nothing bad would happen to her again.
For several weeks we have been showing Margaret that in Kasisi she is safe, that she can trust us and that we will not let anyone hurt her.
Today, the girl needs your support. We encourage you to shop for the pantry; put something in your basket for Margaret. And for those of you who would like to support the little girl every month, you can adopt her from a distance. We highly encourage you to do so!!!
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
