It is said that children get bored when it rains, but not in Kasisi!
The colourful blocks unquestionably win the competition for the most attractive rainy season activity.
Minimalism or post-modernism, spiced with a touch of the classics – the sense of style and unbridled imagination of the little ones in Kasisi would be a match for students of architecture and even experienced designers.
Take a look at the marvellous buildings created by our kids. Which one is closest to your heart and why? The simplicity of Maria Sibangandu’s idea, or perhaps Faith’s mobile proposal (we have a sneaking suspicion that this is what the bus that will take all the Kasisi residents on a trip to Livingstone will look like)? We have one more request: suggest names for these great designs!
The well-meaning Kasisi designers have already gained their die-hard fans among their closest friends back home. These include – Blessing, who has decided to reminisce about when she was a tiny baby and used to suck on a dummy, and Agnes, who simultaneously cheers on her designer friends and waits at the ready to examine someone. The rainy season will last in Kasisi until April, so there is sure to be more than one outstanding architectural project in the meantime.
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
