Little Mary, while playing with other children, lost one of her shoes during an intense play session without even noticing it. A bit like Cinderella running back home from the ball. Mary was born at the same moment as her twin brother Joseph in September 2022. The birth of twins should have been a time of immense joy, but things turned out differently. A tragedy interrupted this most significant moment in their parents’ lives. Just a few days after the delivery, the newborns’ mother passed away. Their father alone couldn’t care for the little ones. The decision to give them up was not easy. However, bringing the one-month-old twins to Kasisi, he knew it was the best thing he could do for them. Maria and Joseph quickly felt at home here. Joseph finds solace in the arms of the aunties, who dedicate their time to him every day. Little Mary turned out to be a bundle of energy and is unstoppable. We hope that Maria and Joseph’s story will have as happy an ending as the fairy tale we all know. One day, when they are grown up, we hope their father will be ready to welcome them back home.
