Sundays like this, show how important Kasisi is, how much sense this home makes, changing stories and straightening the most twisted of its charges’ paths.
Meet Brenda. She spent eight years at Kasisi. In 1995 her relatives found her and she went to live with them. She has not had an easy life. This is the common denominator of all our kids. Despite this, she made a life for herself and started a family. It’s nice to see them!
Today they have come from far away. They have returned, just as one returns to a beloved home that gave one roots and wings. Brenda is not ashamed that her childhood was different from others. At Kasisi Children’s Home, she is always welcomed and loved. She is happy that Kasisi shaped her to become who she is.
If Kasisi was not so saturated with kindness and love, there would be no such meetings. They are proof to us that our support for the sisters who make up this home is the best thing we can do for the more than 200 children who live there today.
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
