If we had to sum up Kasisi in one sentence, we would say that it is a place where one immediately belongs.
It is a Home that welcomes you with open arms from the moment you set foot in it. A place where abandoned children who have lost their parents and those who are here temporarily while their parents try to rebuild their lives, find refuge. An unconditional refuge – whoever comes here immediately becomes one of ours.
But what is most moving is that this hospitality and acceptance is taught to the children – or perhaps it is the children who teach us?
We have seen many touching scenes. Pre-school children fully accepting and cheering on the physically disabled Luckie. Sometimes, when they play with him, they just sit on the ground – to be closer.
Boys who, full of concern, run up to Raphael when he once again bashes his head while playing (Raphael is one of those children who plays so vigorously that he always has a bump).
Teenagers hugging Mapalo, who can only express her deepest thoughts with her wise eyes. The girls inviting Mary, an albino girl, to sing Christmas carols together while making a paper chain.
High school students patiently cuddling a little crying Divine to sleep, still battling hunger disease.
Kasisi loves, teaches, supports. But it also has mundane needs, such as the need to fill the children’s plates, regular visits to the doctor, and minor or major treatments, which are a necessity when there are more than 230 children.
We want to ask you that this place now only has to worry about Raphael’s next tumours. Can you find 5, 10, maybe 20 zloty in your pocket today to allow Kasisi to have a truly peaceful and magical Christmas? If so, take a look in Kasisi’s pantry! Every zloty matters to Kasisi and each will be spent wisely.

Kasia & Aga
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
