Once a week, our HOME is visited by a well-known Zambian artist, Patrick Mumba. He is the director of the School of Education and Social Sciences at Evelyn One College, and his wife Cynthia visits with him. Thanks to the commitment of this wonderful couple, the kids participate in weekly drawing and painting classes, as well as mentoring.
For our mentees, art has become a therapeutic, psychosocial tool to support them in healing from trauma. At the same time, art improves motor and observational skills, which is very important for kids with disabilities.
The works of our little artists lived to see an exhibition in Lusaka. When the kids viewed their works, they were very happy and proud of their hard work all year long. But the most proud was Sister Mariola, who could hardly hold back tears of emotion.
Just see how well you invest the money donated to our kids. You help them to dream and believe that they are really worth a lot. Thank you for being with us. And remember that your 1.5% deducted for the Kasisi Foundation, can produce even more joy ❤️
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
