When Andrew came to us, he was only a month old. His mother, battling a serious illness, was hospitalized, leaving the little one without care. His father, despite his desires, was unable to take care of his son. This is yet another story that began at Kasisi—a place where love and care surround each child. Here, in the love of our Sisters and the staff, Andrew found safety and hope for a better tomorrow.
17.05. Andrew is still in a serious condition. Doctors have diagnosed him with an infectious disease that he inherited from his mother. The boy has been transferred to the infectious disease ward. He is waiting there for a blood transfusion, but this is in short supply and there is no telling when it will happen. Andrew has been suffering from diarrhoea for several days, which has made him very weak.Your support is now much needed.
9.05. Andrew is still waiting for a blood transfusion. The doctors have put him on antibiotics and moved him to another ward. He is still having various tests and examinations done.
8.05. Andrew needs your support! He is in hospital. His condition is serious. He has been feeling unwell for a few days now. The blood results taken at our laboratory in Kasisi are terrible. Fainting, heart problems - heart rate reaching 200 beats per minute, anaemia and low saturation. The suspicion for now is sickle cell anaemia, a very serious blood disease that has already affected so many of our kids. Andrew's condition is so serious that Dr Sahar, Nurse Mariola and our Kasisi nurse Amos have decided to hospitalise him. Keep your fingers crossed for the boy, and for his heart to endure such an unfairly difficult start in life... You are now his only support.

A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
