Gift’s mother, who struggles with an intellectual disability, had the support of her own mother, Gift’s grandmother. She took on the challenge of caring for both her daughter and grandson, dedicating herself to the daily needs of the little boy. However, despite her big heart and dedication, the grandmother eventually realized that caring for Gift was beyond her capabilities. The decision to place him in the care of others was neither easy nor straightforward. It was a moment when she had to face one of the toughest decisions in her life – parting with her grandson to ensure he had a better future. Health issues also played a part in these challenges. Gift was born with a cleft palate and lip, requiring specialized care and surgical treatment. However, further obstacles arose on his path to full recovery. He needs to reach an appropriate weight before undergoing surgery, which demands patience and meticulous care. But joy comes with each additional kilogram that Gift gains. Thanks to the determination of donors, Sisters, and medical staff, he currently weighs 4.5 kg!
