Chocolate might be in short supply, and school trips may happen less often, but one thing in Kasisi is sacred—education. We’re not exaggerating— education is a priority for Sister Mariola, as evidenced by the outstanding achievements of our children.

Here in Kasisi, every child who can attend school or participate in lessons on-site is given that opportunity. It’s a chance they could only dream of if it weren’t for the persistence of their “Mom”, Sister Mariola. It’s no wonder that our Home is a model orphanage for all of Zambia.

Children with albinism, who are at risk of violence from those who believe in their magical properties, receive private education in secure facilities. Children requiring physiotherapy or with chronic illnesses are taught individually.

Sister Mariola always tells the children: “You have the same chance as James, Eva, or Tamara. If you commit to this, you can achieve everything you dream of, but the decision is always yours.”
